@liamwitdre Did the keeper see where the stewards were? Not a chance. When he saw where the stewards were he backed off from the guy. 2 kicks after being attacked does not constitute assualt in any country. Whether you study A-level law or not is irrealevant here, as this attack, in a lawful sence, happend on the keepers place of work. Where the fan could be viewed as an intruder unlawfully entering a restricted area. Not to mention this could also be viewed as a hate crime too
@kiwiboy1 he went on the floor after the first kick, the stewards are quite clearly coming on to handle the situation. If what you say was true and he did have a knife (lets assume the GK thought that) then he would have fully backed off and let him get dealt with accordingly by the stewards/police. I studied A-level law and have been in trouble with the police for assault, this is more than self-defence.

I have to agree with you on this..the first kick fine but come on can you imagine what he would have done if they didn’t stop him and if I remember correctly Eric Cantona slapped a fan and got 8 or 9 months suspension
The keeper got scared, the ref got scared, the game was canceled because the AZ coach was unhappy to see his player sent off.
They will play again with no spectators this time. Shit happens but in the end football remains a lucky business.

true it was selfdefense, but he avoided the attak and pacifized the attak with his first moves. while the peg is under floor he is not in any danger, when u also think about all the guards coming to aid. So he shouldnt have kept hitting, but you dont think rationally in the situation its not so easy as it sounds 🙂
